Survey about citizens and water protection

Photo: Esko PettayTallinn University has launched a survey to learn how citizens of the Baltic countries think about water protection and the Baltic Sea. In January and February 2014, 1500 people from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania will be interviewed about their knowledge and activities regarding water protection in their local municipality.

The information provided by the survey will guide the environmental communication activities of the CITYWATER project. The survey aims to identify people’s perception of different water-related problems and thus helps to better aim future communication. Special attention will be paid in the survey to the role of local municipalities in water protection. The survey will be conducted by the polling company TNS Emor.

The public opinion poll will be followed by a survey of municipalities about their current water protection activities and experiences in environmental communication.
